The reopening of the Cutty Sark has been pushed back to Spring 2011, according to a report on the BBC website.
The famous tea clipper, synonymous with Greenwich, has been undergoing an extensive refurbishment programme, but this was severely hampered by the fire of May 2007 when an industrial vacuum cleaner was left switched on.
The BBC quotes Richard Doughty, Chair of the Cutty Sark Trust, as saying that they “could still need up to £5m” in order to complete the project in line with their “vision”.

Very disappointed that there is so much ill feeling around this restoration.
I am a descendant of Captain Moodie ( first captain ) and I am sure he would be spinning about this as from what I gather he was very particular about HIS SHIP.
We live in NZ and are coming to UK in 2012 so would like this resolved ASAP.

To Kay Mckenzie
On the bright side.I have very recently found some never before seen footage of the Cutty Sark moored in the Carrick Roads off Falmouth. The footage was filmed in the1930`s and was found in the attic in a small fishing village on the south coast of Cornwall.
