The Metropolitan Police have launched a new crime mapping tool which allows you to see which neighbourhoods across London suffer from the worst crime rates.
The website uses colours to illustrate crime hotspots, and at the moment is measuring only burglary, robbery and vehicle crime. The website says that crime in the borough of Greenwich is average. Zooming ino a ward by ward basis, Greenwich West has average crime, with there actually being only 28 crimes of this type in July 08 compared to June 08. The Peninsula ward, on the other hand, has a High crime rate, with 55 reported crimes of this type in June, increasing to 59 in July.
Interesting tool or pointless gimmick? Take a look yourself and the come back and post a comment with what you think of it.

The police say the crime rate in Thamesmead is down what planet are they on?
Houses flats broken into cars wrecked & burnt out. Most weekends cars have windows smashed tyres slashed what do the police do? Answer give you a number in other words Nothing. If your lucky a pco may turn up thats if they can get a bus or they walk what can a pco do? Answer Nothing What is the point of
a pco if they cant do anything. Its a waste of time reporting anything to greenwich police nothing ever gets done. If your house was on fire you would want the fire
service to put it out not turn up and give you a number thats all the police do give you a number. All greenwich police & Greenwich Council do is have a photo shoot in woolwich town for Publicty to go in the Rubbish Greenwich Time.
Greenwich police & Council are a Waste of Space.
Someone said the police are across the road, he was asked if he knew any more jokes.
